Small Yays

It’s been a pretty good week around here, thanks in part to the little things in life.  Some highlights:

  • Thursday night, while babysitting, I discovered that the 15 month old has learned to make—for lack of a better word—fart noises with his mouth.  In celebration, he, the four-year-old, and I spent all of dinner making fart noises and laughing.  No, we did not call them fart noises—we didn’t call them anything, really.  We just sat there and made them.  It was awesome.
  • Last weekend I acquired a battery-powered desk fan for work.  My office building is sweltering, and I refuse to be one of those annoying assholes who complains about the temp in the office.  It is practically law that no one can be comfortable in an office.  But now, with my battery-powered fan, I have seriously had the best week.
  • Flush with babysitting money, I treated myself to an iced nonfat mocha yesterday morning.  Nom.
  • I’ve been walking around the building (outside) during my morning breaks at work.  Since I come into work at 6am, I take my morning break at 8:30a and it’s not hot yet.  It’s glorious, although I’m a bit wary now because a certain person has decided she’s going to get some gym shoes and join me.  Oh boy!
  • Found myself wide awake at 6:30a today, so I decided to get up and spend a few hours in the basement with the kitties.
