Blog-A-Long Year of Projects

It’s time for the Blog-a-Long!  In an earlier entry, I talked about a project I’d be starting on July 1 and continuing through to June 30, 2012.  I’ve made a list of projects and I’ll be working through that list, along with a group of others organised on Ravelry.

My project list is compiled of crochet projects that I’ve wanted to do for awhile, but for whatever reason have not gotten around to.  It’s mostly sweaters (which I love but can never commit to buying all the yarn needed) and shawls (which I love, period, and make plenty of), with a smattering of smaller projects thrown in.  The list is also not exclusionary--if a new pattern comes out that I really want to make, I can make it.  If I need to make something for a gift or swap and it’s not on my list, I can take the time to make it.  The way I see it, I’m knocking out all these beloved patterns while also leaving myself open for spontaneous stitching.

The list below is linked to the Ravelry patterns.  If you don’t have a Rav account, you won’t be able to see the patterns, but if you do any kind of yarn craft, you need to be on Rav!  It’s free and it’s wonderful!  Also, though the list is numbered, it’s not in any particular order.  I won’t be completing the projects in the order I’ve listed.  But when I do complete a pattern, I’ll post pics of the completed item to the blog.  I’ll also be keeping a list of the patterns in a sidebar and crossing them off as I complete them.

  1. Eva’s Shawl
  2. Crochet Flower Hot Pad
  3. Elise Shawl (you KNOW I had to make this one!)
  4. Claudia Scarf
  5. Summer Splendor (doily pattern I’m turning into a shawl)
  6. Doily--unlinked and without real pattern name because it’s a gift for a family member who occasionally reads the blog.
  7. Bombay Love (baby sweater)
  8. Soft Serve (cardigan)
  9. Puff-Sleeved Cardigan
  10. Blue Heaven Sweater
  11. Small Talk Shawl
  12. Lace and Pearls Necklace
  13. Diamonds Shawl
  14. Gali (shawl)
  15. Visage Lace Beret
  16. Bazaar Bag
  17. Urban Revival (hat)
  18. Juliana Wrap

  6. I'm beginning to miss crochet with all the great things people have on their lists. I may have to try a couple of the things on your list.
