Good Morning, Saturday!

My weekend is off to a glorious start, although it certainly didn't seem that way initially.  Why?  Well, I awoke feeling completely rested and wide awake...at 5:49am.  I was not pleased.  But then I remembered how hot it's going to get today, and how I did want to get a walk in, so I got up and hit the trail.
The trail?  Yes, the Illinois Prairie Path.  The main stem runs near my house, and I discovered it a few days ago.  Now, for my more rural readers--this is not the wooded trail you're imagining.  It runs through some of the most heavily populated Chicago suburbs, and while there are trees and brush, it's mostly suburban back yards.  Still, it's a lovely change from neighborhood streets, and especially so this morning.  When I first went on the trail on Tuesday, I saw a wild black raspberry bush, but it only had one ripe berry (which I totally ate).  Today, there were more berries than I could fit in my hand (and mouth).  I probably picked over a cup's worth, and ate them right there.  It was divine.
After my walk, I took a nice shower, and now I'm sitting in the basement, showered, teeth brushed, and in clean pjs, serving as cat furniture.  I'm not sure what my day will hold.  While I'm babysitting tonight, the rest of my long weekend is wide open.  What are you up to this weekend?
